An alluring automobile The smoothly muscular HR-V possesses genuine kerb appeal – with its raised ride height, swooping roofline and smartly contoured body standing out in particular. This is an SUV designed to turn heads and fill its owner with a feeling of genuine pride. What’s more, there are plenty of exciting colours to choose from, including Passion Red, Brilliant Sporty Blue, Taffeta White and Crystal Black. It’s not all about looks, though – this is an exceedingly practical vehicle. For a start, the HR-V offers easy access thanks to its five-door body.
Lovely LEDs LED lights not only shine brighter than their halogen counterparts, they’re much more efficient and don’t require regular replacement. So it’s just as well that the HR-V is fitted with LED Daytime Running Lights, LED taillights and LED indicators, each providing high-quality illumination when you need it most.
Appealing alloys The HR-V rides on minimum-size 16-inch alloys that feature a distinctive five-spoke spiral design (entry-level VTi trims). Upgrade to VTi-S grades for 17-inch wheels – or VTi-LX trims for 17-inch alloys that sport a striking two-tone look. Whichever option you choose, your HR-V will benefit from wheels whose lightweight yet durable construction will help to enhance both efficiency and performance.
A perfect profile It’s in profile that the Honda HR-V arguably looks its best. This is in part due to a swept-back roofline that peaks with an attractive-looking spoiler. Not only does this latter fixture attract the eye, it helps creates the conditions for improved airflow – and therefore optimal performance levels.
Like magic The roomy HR-V comes with Honda’s renowned Magic Seats system, which allows you to configure the cabin in a number of flexible ways. Depending on the situation, you can choose to maximise space for up to five travellers or decide to increase stowage capacity – it’s entirely up to you. And even with a full complement of adult occupants, you’ll find the vehicle to be spacious as well as comfortable. Furthermore, there are plenty of storage cubbies for everyone to make use of, including six drink-holders.
Clever cargo capabilities With all seats in place, the HR-V possesses an impressive 470-litre luggage capacity. If that’s not enough, simply fold the rear seats and you’ll have an extremely useful 1,533 litres of cargo volume to play with. Plus, with a flexible system, you can choose how to combine passenger and cargo space.
Intuitive control The HR-V’s carefully designed dashboard ensures that everything you need is within easy reach. In prime position is a seven-inch colour touchscreen that enables you to safely access your smartphone apps, audio, satellite navigation and much more. And with an ergonomic centre console, adjusting settings is simple.
Infotainment highlights Base-level VTi trims are installed with a multimedia system, which provides easy access to the car’s six-speaker sound system and numerous connective technologies. As well as an AM/FM radio, AUX and USB ports and Bluetooth, you’ll discover Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, which allows you to integrate your smartphone via the HR-V’s own screen.
Five-star safety The Honda HR-V has been awarded ANCAP’s highest safety rating in recognition of the many passive protective features and driving aids that are included as standard. As you might expect, multiple airbags, ISOFIX child-seat fixtures, Anti-lock Braking and Hill-hold Assist are among the standard-issue safety technologies that help to keep you and your family protected. Each time you take to the road in this practical crossover, you can do so with peace of mind.
Stress-free parking One of many useful technologies included with the vehicle is Parking Assist, which uses rear-mounted sensors to help you park. Simply keep an eye on the car’s display screen and you’ll find reversing into tight spaces simple. Top-of-the-line VTi-LX trims add front-mounted sensors, offering the ultimate all-round HR-V parking package.
Essential braking Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) is just one of a number of essential driver aids included as standard. EBA works as part of Electronic Stability Control, automatically applying maximum braking pressure if the vehicle detects an impending collision. So even if you are unable to react in time, you’re still protected.
Low-speed protection The HR-V works hard to ensure low-speed collisions are kept to a minimum too. The City-brake Assist System (CTBA) comes in handy if you’re travelling at speeds of 30km/h or less, and you’re on course to collide with the vehicle ahead. The system detects this and automatically triggers maximum braking to minimise impact.
